Nature Boy

Here is the video of my arrangement of Nature Boy.

You'll notice that the virtual fretboard is missing the moving dots. I blanked them out on purpose, to encourage you to order the paid lesson, where they do appear.

The lesson also includes the tab and notation, written commentary, plus another video I put together using the Guitar Pro app I use to create the tab. (see screenshot below)

My version above is so loose time-wise that I found it impossible to program all the dynamics — the speed-ups and slow-downs — into Guitar Pro. In the end, I gave up and programmed a straightforward version into the app. Same notes, same bar count, but devoid of the feel.

If you decide to order the lesson, you can use that rather bland version to get the notes and moves into your muscle memory, then gradually inject your own dynamics and feel.

It's a beautiful tune, and playing it becomes quite addictive once you get the moves under your fingers.

I particularly like that slide-down in bars 8–9 and 24–25. I do like to keep my arrangements to a bare minimum of notes, and this seemed to me the most efficient way of expressing that move from Am to B half-diminished.

As minimalist as this arrangement is, it's really quite challenging. You'll have noticed those big leaps up the fingerboard, and that slide I mentioned ... You've got to be on your toes (to use an anatomically inappropriate metaphor) to keep the flow going.
